Especially now that the weather’s getting nicer, it’s a nighly ritual in our household to take a post-dinner walk around the neighborhood.  Sometimes, when we’re in need of groceries, we’ll walk to the grocery store.  The store is less than a mile from our house, it gives us an opportunity to walk with a purpose in mind, it’s environmentally friendly, yada, yada.  Tonight we needed some more oatmeal for the G-man, so a walk to the store seemed in order.

As we were checking out with our baby oatmeal and applesauce, Erin’s interaction with the cashier went something like this:

Cashier:  “Hello”

Erin:  “Hi”

Cashier:  “Do you have a Pick n Save card”

Erin:  “Here you go”

Cashier:  “Dizwic?”

Erin:  “Huh?”

Cashier:  “Izzwic?”

Erin:  “What?”

Cashier:  “Doizzwic?”

Erin:  (ignored him)

At this point we finished checking out.

Cashier:  “There’s a WIC program that your baby food and applesauce falls under.  I was askin’ you if it was WIC.”

We proceeded to exit the store.

Ryan:  “I think he just asked us if we are homeless.”

It might be time to start dressing nicer and driving a car to the store.
