The summer has left me with less and less time to even get photos off my camera, let alone blog about them. But I was getting ready for our upcoming camping trip by cleaning the photos off momma’s camera, and found this one of the crew in front of the world’s largest penny in Woodruff, WI. It seemed too silly not to post.

July 15, 2010chillin on the first day of summer
June 21, 2010While it’s officially the first day of summer, it feels like it’s been summer for months already. The calendar is nearly full-up through about August, and many projects are already in various stages of completeness. Sadly, as expected, blogging photos of G-Man has again fallen to the bottom of the todo list. It’s unfortunate, really, since we’ve taken a lot of cute photos over the last couple of months. But I look back on them now and can already see how much he’s changed and think it would be silly to post them. Maybe they’ll be resurrected in roughly 2040 for the slide show at G’s wedding.
In any case, we did have a fun time last weekend at the lake for neighbor-reunion weekend. Here’s one of G we snapped on the way to the Three Lakes Winery.
Barrel bathing
October 12, 2009We’ve been kicking around the idea of re-decorating our downstairs bathroom with bath-time pictures of G. I’ve also always wanted to try a “baby bathing in a barrel” shot. So during our last trip up north, we emptied the dirt and flowers from grandma’s flower barrel, loaded up the car and found the nearest open field. Here are a couple of our boy G. I think one of these would look great on canvas hanging on our bathroom wall.
Note: It was still warm in northern Wisconsin on the date these were taken. Shows how far behind I am with proofing pictures of our boy.

Happy 4th of July!
July 11, 2009Only a week late, but eh. We’re taking lots of photos this summer, just not finding much time to blog ‘em. Here’s G-Money at his first parade, the annual Fourth of July parade in Three Lakes, WI.

Pool time fun on the greatest day of the year
May 27, 2009This past Memorial Day weekend we made our annual pilgrimage up to Grandma B’s house in Lake Tomahawk. On the way, we stopped at the lake for a day to celebrate the greatest, most bestest day of the year…the day we put the boat in the water! In previous years, we’ve had some limited success with the boat’s annual launch. One year I forgot to put the plug in the boat…only realizing my mistake when the boat was half full of water. That also happened to be the same year I connected the battery backwards and fried a diode (or maybe it was a capacitor?) and disabled the boat’s electrical system. You realize how much you rely on the boat’s electrical bilge pump at a time when the boat is half filled with water. But this year, the entire operation went off without a hitch.
We had some great weather all four days up there, and G was able to bust out his new swimming pool and swim trunks. Here are a few from his first dip in the pool.

He loves to put his rubber duck in his mouth while splashing in the bathtub. Turns out the same holds true for the pool as well.

Our first trip to the lake
May 13, 2009This past weekend we went up to the lake to celebrate Mother’s Day with momma and grandma. The weather on Friday was beautifully warm and sunny. G was itching to get into the water, but the lake was way too cold yet (as mommy and daddy can attest from putting the pier into the water). We instead had to settle for on-shore activities such as hiking to the bend and back, playing on the swingset, and competing in some spirited games of cornhole. These two photos are from Friday’s lunch out on the woods-side deck.
