Our Day at the Petting Farm

November 14, 2011

When I found there was a vimeo app for our TV, I became interested in creating more videos of our adventures since it’s now so easy to watch them from our couch. And playing them on the TV is guaranteed to keep the G-Man interested for at least 4 minutes.  Here’s one from our day at the petting farm.

First day of school

August 29, 2011

We got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, took a photo, and made it to the first day of school on time.  And most importantly, we didn’t have to change any clothes because of spit up.  Overall it was a resounding success.

our boys

Relaxing yesterday morning on mommy and daddy’s bed.

Momma has been camping (and presumably making s’mores) since she was 2 years old. She’s perfected the technique of browning the marshmallow to ideal s’more consistency. Here are s’more photos from our 4th of July vacation at the lake.

Not sure why C looks like a perfect little alien baby in this one.

Loucks at the Lake

I decided to try a video instead of just stills from our last family vacation up at Stella Lake.  Enjoy!

mini guys weekend 2011

June 10, 2011

Last weekend G and I spent the weekend up at the lake with Grandpa Steve.  It was a chance to try out a mini-guys-weekend away from momma, and give her a chance to try to catch up on some sleep with only Baby C to take care of.  Here are some photos of our adventures.

It started out with G sleeping until 9 am on Saturday, a feat unheard of when we’re at home.  After such a restful sleep, it was time for a couple of bowls of Smores cereal.

It was then time to help Grandpa cut up and haul a tree that had fallen in the yard.

After the work was done, G and daddy life-jacketed up and spent some time inner tubing on the lake.

We then tended our makeshift garden that we had planted in the back 40 at the end of April.  I’m sure it had snowed since we put it in, but our pumpkin seeds were actually growing!

We spent some time helping Grandpa clean up around the firepit, with G sporting his bug shirt.

The weather was gorgeous, so we were able to put the boat in the water and get out on the lake a bunch.  G was thrilled getting a chance to drive it around the lake.

And we spent a lot of time fishing as well.  Or more accurately, we spent a lot of time untangling our fishing lines.

Or figuring out how the darn reel thing works.

But most of all we enjoyed the quality time we got to spend with Grandpa.

2 weeks

June 6, 2011

Mini C had his 2 week doctor appointment today and has gained nearly 2 pounds since leaving the hospital!  We knew he loved to eat, but we didn’t know how quickly he could pack on the pounds.  He’s well on his way to becoming starting linebacker for UW.

Here’s one from his week-old portrait session.

Welcome Baby Johnny

May 24, 2011

It’s been a while since I’ve found any time to post some photos, but with the arrival of “Baby Johnny” aka “Crocodile Babe” on Monday, it might be time to get things fired up again. Here’s one of our two boys together.

That was our time in the 2010 edition of the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis from today. We didn’t exactly come back to an empty gymnasium with a lone janitor sweeping the floor, but it was close.  The problem was that G-Man mistakenly thought it was called the Jingle Bell “momma, carry me” for Arthritis.  Here’s the crew that braved the slippery conditions and successfully completed the 5K.

Looking through the archives I found these gardening pictures from back in May.  The G-Man cultivated an awesome garden this year, complete with corn, broccoli, pickles, peas, zucchini, tomatoes, and peppers.  We’re already planning the garden layout for next year, including our 275 gallon rainwater watering system.  Next year’s growing season can’t get here fast enough.  If only there were vegetables we could grow in the snow.
